We are all guilty of it. Coveting.
Focusing January on organising my kitchen has made me dream of some containers to help my fridge and my pantry look even neater (as in "tidy", and as in "super").
Warning: I love Kmart (which is where all of these items are
from). If you have the money, you could definitely go to Howards Storage World
or the like; I simply don’t and can’t justify spending the money.
Secondary warning: I am stingy. The said dream items that
you will see below come to a whopping total of $45 (realistically I would need
more than one of each container, but for arguments sake I would be
spending no more than $80 to completely deck out my fridge and pantry with
these items) and I still won’t buy them! Scrooge much?!
I have made a deal with myself. If I can get through the
next two months of organising and KEEP the areas organised, I will go out to
Kmart and buy these things (and yes, I will then have to reorganise the fridge
and pantry – but with it already done there really should be nothing to do but
transfer items in their own categorised containers!)
Pantry:

3 Tier Shelf $7 |

Large Pull Out Organiser $7 |
These large pull out organisers would be great for my extra
pasta’s and side dishes which are currently either sitting bare in the cupboard
or neatly stacked into a different basket (like I said, currently no need! But
would be fine and dandy to have some sleek containers like this!) It would also
be great for all of the crackers we have!! Not a sweet biscuit in sight, but if
you feel like a cracker please come over and take 5 boxes off our hands!

Storage Turntable $7 |
If you saw my organised pantry, you saw that I use a lazy susan to hold my
condiments, spreads and what not. It seriously is a god send. Circular
containers really are a waste of space, but having something like this
turntable or a lazy susan means that you have the ease of accessing items you
may not have been able to reach before. I absolutely love having my lazy susan.
Another reason I don’t “NEED” this yet, but it would match the drawer
organisers I already did buy (which I did need.. well and truly)

3 Tier Pantry Storage Corner Unit $7 |
Again, the height and ability to get a good visual from this
unit checks all the boxes on my list of what makes a good pantry container. Not
sure how practical the rounded shelving would be, but for $7 and optimal
viewing pleasure of my stockpile, I have considered spending the money. I think
that utilising the corner space would be worth any you lost on the impractical
overall shape of the unit!

Small Pull Out Organiser $5 |
Once again these would be great for a number of items and it
really depends on what things frequent your pantry. I could see some recipe
base packets (Maggi Beef Stroganoff is one of my faves) or some soup packets
(French onion soup for a homemade cobb dip!) in here. I don’t know exact dimensions
(definitely something you should check before actually purchasing containers
for a space) but this sized container may even fit tinned foods.
Fridge:

Large Clear Fridge Tray $7 |
The large fridge tray would be perfect for any fruit or veg
that doesn’t fit in your crisper or Tupperware Fridge Smart/ Vent Smarts.

Medium Clear Fridge Tray $5 |
I think this tray would be perfect for snacks, poppers or
drink cans. This tray would also be great for jars or sauces that need to be
kept in the fridge.
How is it that fridge and pantry organisation can make me so happy?
Thanks for stopping by! Check out these Blog Hops and Linky Parties I'm getting involved with

I like those three tiered jobs, my pantry is the same - I tried organising it and have a couple of tubs in there to neaten things up but it doesn't take long for chaos to prevail lol good luck :)
ReplyDeleteSo true Jaz! I think organised spaces are an ongoing battle. It doesn't just stay organised because you did it 6 months ago. I think the tiered steps are a great idea!
